Kayaking the Eau Claire River
Well it was a great Memorial Day on the water. I only caught three fish but lost several "nice ones". This smallmouth had length and heft to it. I had a rubber worm wacky rigged that I had just tossed over the side to get out of the way so I could look around in my tackle box, and then bang, I thought I had a snag. I alos caught a smaller smallmouth and a true hammer handle pike.
I did see a guy catch a 44" musky from shore on a rubber worm rigged below a bobber. Who wouldve thought? The turtles must be laying eggs. Any sand covered bank was littered with them. Im guessing they bury the eggs in the sand a bit. I seen some that were bigger than the circle I make touching my hands together. |

Sounds like a good weekend man! I didn't managed to get any smallies on the river myself.
