Default Is it my imagination

or has the price of hollow bodied swim baits gone up since the introduction of the Alabama rig? I picked up a couple packs of YUM Money Minnows today and the darn things were $9.00 for a 4 pack of 5" baits.

First time I've bought the Money Minnow but it was the only HBSB Dick's had in the store and I only went there because it was close and I needed a spool of braid and some hooks. I've got to find a cheaper bait as they don't last too long dragging them through the Potomac pads.

Nope, I think they've always been ridiculously overpriced...

I'm gonna be saving my torn up hollow bellies from swimjigs and trying to repair them with a wood burner.

Glad I picked up 4 packs at 50% off when my Gander Mtn. cleared out their fishing stuff.

Yes I used to pay 7 for them and thought that was high,I do better however with the smaller ones. Most of the plastics are repairable to an extent, heat will reseal, either by say a soldering iron or in the field a lighter, with each remelt it does get a tad softer.

My understanding is that hollow body plastics are WAY more costly to produce than solid but still...............

I keep checking my local Gander. They mark them down half price a lot of the time. Seems like when there is a few packs left they discount them. Last time I was there they had about 10 left. I'll check again and see what's left.
