Default July 25th Report

The trip was pleasant with mild weather. Lots of pesky LGMouth and two Potomac Pike shook the hooks off. Dang... Fished an area that I have not fished for years and they where eager to hit our toads and flukes. Feel like a ZOOM has the edge on this backwater style of fishing.

Seems like your clients lose a lot of Potomac Pike?? What's the deal??? When I get one to bite it ends up in the boat.......and most of your clients don't look like newbies to me. Am I missing something?

The simple pause and the hard hook set is often neither. Most people are wired to set the hook the instant the fish rushes the bait.

Shallow water a v coming at it,many either pull the bait away at the strike or just nick, this year ive seen a lot of aerial bass tossing everything fom a crankbait to a jig.
Not waiting on a frog bite,is double jeopardy, even with a fluke one should wait till it turns with it.Sight fishing or surface fishing either one is not made for everyone, even seasonsed fishermen.
With a floating frog one can tell them what to do like count 1thousand one, two, three, and seldom do they do it,they react its not a popr with trebles.
