most braid is noisy...it seems to help a little if you spray line conditioner on the line and/or the guides.

It shouldn't on any rod with titanium, alconite, or titanium-carbide guides.

It is noisy but with that rod you have no worries as far as the line hurting the eyelets.

I used to hate the noise myself, but after a few catches here and there, that same noise turned into music to my ears. Your rod ought to be fine unless you have recoil guides.

if that rod has recoil guides take the braid off.it will eat recoils.what kind of braid are you using?fireline's new braid is the smoothest least noisey best handling braid made.

All braid makes noise as it goes through the guides. Suffix Performance Braid is quieter then my old stand by, Power Pro. The only time I've ever used any kind of line conditioner on Braid is to help prevent line freezing in the cold weather.

Suffix is definitely quieter than Power Pro. Suffix is also a 6 strand braid while Power Pro is a 4 strand braid. The 6 strand braid is better (for me anyways) because I get a lot fewer tip snags. Also the BPS in Prattville carries the bright orange Suffix but I have to order online the bright yellow Power Pro. I use the bright colors so I can see my line on the water since I fish mostly weightless plastics. I tie a CFX fluoro leader onto the braid using a J-knot. Line conditioner does help add a bit more casting distance even with braid. And I think the conditioner helps keep the color from fading as fast and it helps keep it from fraying as quick too.
