Big old dino brain idea...
I had the idea to try a Johnsons silver minnow on the Potomac Pike.. added a split tail grub as a trailer..
Think I have a good idea but so far no hits.. need some ideal conditions. Capt Mike

That should be a good bait, would come through the pads pretty good. Tried anything else along those lines (real pike lures) like a daredevil? I would think those voracious eaters would hit just about anything that moves.

I used to use johnson spoons with SK elastech grubs, super glued on the hook. They work real well in this one weedy lake I fished in Florida. Lots of bull rushes, and pads. Let em sink to the bottom and rip the up, or skipper them on top.... or fish em like a spinnerbait! Didn't mater how I fished em, they worked!
Hope ya catch a few on em Captn.

Thats a good lure combo for sure. A big ole Uncle Josh pork frog would work well too. I also like putting a skirt on the hook!
