Welcome to the site.
Well as usual my favorite color of plastics for anything, I repeat again, anything is Greenpumpkin. Wish they made more clothes, cars, buildings, etc... out of this color. Lizards

I typically only use three colors - pumpkin, watermelon, and red shad.

I know a little something about this subject. The best carolina rig color is pumpkin/ chartruese tail. Why ? I don't know what makes it work so well, but trust me when I tell you the color catches alot of fish when Carolina rigged. P N J

there is no best color.it may vary depending on water clarity and regional differences.all the above work at certain times.i find purple power worms to be right up there also.

Depends on where you are fishing and what the hatch is like in that area. Purple and Greenpumpkin work good in my area

I keep hearing about the "red shad" color. For whatever reason, I don't do well on red plastics, although the red cranks seem to work during rain. Anyway, is this red shad different than a standard blood red color? What company makes red shad?

I use Red Shad Berkley Power Worms or Red Shad Culprit Worms. I use the 6" Culprits mostly when I'm fishing a river. That color works great in my area.

If you look close at the industrys versions of red shad , many are dif in thier appearance, take for instance a power worm in red shad and compare it to a culprit, some are shiney n some are dull looking.
Its a great color to keep in stock. |
