Default GREAT Reel for a Low Rent Angler

Hey: I use ABU Round Reels I have 3 5600ws that I got from ffo-tackle for 59 each now a friend who works at a tackle store just sold me an ABU RECORD (50) for 90 bucks which is 20 more than i would spend on a reel, but this reel retails for 140 bucks, so I treated myself. If was their show case model and all my reel needs have been met!

Please let us know how you like that Record. I have been interested in them but every time I see them in the store they are the really big models. I prefer something like the 50 probably. Also what kind of brakes do they use?

Six-pin centrifugal brake, which I prefer. My other 3 reels are ABU5000WS, got em for 59 each at ffotackle. They have 2 pin , they are basically a C4 platform but have a whiffle spool and instead of a six pin they have 2. I have used them for a full season and the cast control knob really does it's job, so I got used to it.
I would never spend that much on a reel ( 90) , but it is new, their display model.Like you I had only seen the 60's which are for muskies
I will post a review in the spring.Hard water setting in here.

I have two 60's and one HC. Good reels so far.
