High school football comeback for the ages!

Our high school football team was playing 15 minutes up the road tonight at the homecoming of our arch-rival. We were 4-0 going in and ranked #5 in the state in our class, but we got DOMINATED in every imaginable way in the first half and were down 41-7 at halftime. We put up 3 TDs in the 3rd quarter to close to 41-28 heading into the 4th. We scored our 5th unanswered TD with 4 minutes left, but MISSED THE EXTRA POINT to keep the game tied at 41. After a defensive stop, we got the ball back, drove down and kicked a 28 yard FG with 0:47 left and won the game, 44-41! I didn't get to see it because we are up at our cabin this weekend, but I was able to listen to the radio broadcast online. I still can't believe what I just listened to!

A win is a win but a comeback like that is a VICTORY!
When young men can keep their heads together when down such a large margin at half says allot about the team and individual character of the team players as well as the coaching staff.

Aren't you just dieing to know WHAT the coach said at the halftime talk?

According to the local newspaper article, which you can never really trust to be accurate...

“I didn’t really say anything,” Williams said of the motivational halftime speech. “All I said was, ‘We can pack it up and go home. Or, we can play Owatonna football. It’s your call.’”
