Default Panther Martin Frog

Went to a sporting goods store and found the Superior weedless frogs for .88 cents each. I never tried one before. I always use Horny Toad and regular weedless type frogs. Was wondering how weedless these are and how they perform?

Never understood why they put the hook on the bottom. Even though they are weedless, they still seem to grab all that slimy stuff. I think they'll catch fish just fine, although I worry about the hookup ratio a little with the hook on the underneath side.

I've used this frog for about 30 years, since it was the Bill Plummers Super Frog. I can attest that it flat out catches bass! I prefer to use a Spro frog in thick slop but the Super Frog fished in more open weeds like lilly pads and such where the weeds don't make a carpet on the surface, is a great frog bait. As for the belly hook, it catches more bass by far than the hollow bodied back hooked frogs just like any suface lure with belly treble hooks. The new Panther Martin Big Eyed Pro Frog with the skirted legs and improved weedguard is gonna be a killer!

They're not to bad at all! Not really frogs for mat fishing, but they work great around pads and reeds. All be it they are not as weedless... but they're not as expensive either!

I used a panther martin pro frog the other day, around 3:30 pm from shore, in the rain, extremely weeded area and had a blast. Got the biggest bass so far this year. It was soooo much fun! Amazing for not grabbing weeds! It was the only thing I used in 2 days that wasnt grabbing at the weeds. I was impressed!
