PC help
I am not getting any sound from my speakers. I have them imbedded in the monitor and stand alone. I checked the control panel and it shows that they are working. All I get is a little sound when I turn on the pc. I've never played them at full volume. Any ideas of what could be wrong?

It is a either a registry problem or you need to get a sound card I'll do a little bit of research and get back to you.

Might be a cheap fix. Had that happened to me. Shut down the PC, unplug the audio cord, both ends -back of monitior and pc then replug. Then power up. See if that'll help.

Try updating the drivers on your Motherboard if they are outdated.

If you have a PC then you do not have a Mac so I am assuming you have Windows Xp or greater. Try a few of these steps and see if they don't help. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307918

Lets try this...
1. unplug the green jack (plug) from the back of the computer. 2. play some music..do you hear any sound? 3. if yes then plug the green plug back in and try again. 4. Did the action of plugging in the green plug make static noise? 5. speakers requirepower if no static was heard. The new Dells have speakers with a usb and a green plug. The volume control is well hidden as a circle of plastic on the top of the speaker.. rotate it... Capt Mike
