Mark Rippetoe?
Anyone ever hear of Mark Rippetoe? Been looking into replacing my current regimen with his "Starter Strength" system. The gains look big, and it fits my schedule well.
I've been watching some of his video's, and reading some of his articles. Looks like he's really put some science into his work, and really know's what he's doing. Also I'm able to do full weight bench press with no pain to my wrist now, thought I'd just add that. And no, this isn't one of those "miracle work outs," like what you see on infomercials.

Be very careful when reading this type of stuff. As a past member of ACSM and NSCA I can agree with a couple points he makes in his "infomercial" about the lack of practical background in some of the research. As an exercise physiologist I'm very skeptical when reading his type of promotion. The Ex Phys title comes along with my Master degree and is separate from my athletic training certification.
PM me your current program and I'll see what you are currently doing and will make some recommendations. I might even agree with Rppetoe on some things. Creating a good workout program is simple and easy to learn and gimmicks or special programs are just created to rip people off. Don't spend any money!! |
