Talking Thanks Mallen!!!!!

Hey Mallen, I just wanted to put out an open thank for the spinnerbaits you sent me! They're AMAZING!! The whole family (well the part that fishes ) was marvelling over them! Great high quality baits you got there man! I love the skits, great colors, prefect weight, love the blades, and VERY good hooks, and VERY good swivels! I've got the blue gill colored one on my rod right now. The print out of that bass that was in there, is cool too, great motto too.

SECOND CAST BAITS! ...cuz the first cast is bad luck!

I can't wait to try them out this weekend, just in time too, spinnerbait season here is gonna be in FULL SWIG here pretty soon. Can't wait to catch some pigs on 'em man.

Thanks man!

Got a couple myself boss, and yes i like em too. Caught a bass last year with one, and will catch more this year, hehehe.

You're welcome boss. Happy Birthday tomorrow.
Thanks for the compliments, glad you like 'em.
I'm actually switching over to a different brand of skirts. You'll find that a good fight will pull the skirt down from where it's seated (I really couldn't come up with a way to say that so noone would think bad thoughts haha). The new ones I have are much snugger.
I wanted to send you one with that bluegill skirt though. That was a killer for me last year no matter what conditions I was fishing.
I'm also going to switch over to bigger tubing, the size I've been using doesn't allow enough play of the trailer hook.
Now if I could only make a decent bend in the wire on a consistent basis! I have several "low profile" ones I'm gonna throw this year. That's code for "well I screwed that bend up, time to snip it off and try again!"

MAllen, some advice on the trailer hooks. Skip the tubing over the hook. instead thread your hook on, and then put the tubin on after it. This way, the hook is allowed to move freely, and will always track straight behind the bait. If I don't have tubing, I use a hole punch to make circles out of a plastic coffee can lid or something similar.

Yeah, I remember Kevin mentioning that one time as well. Haven't tried it yet though

When I buy spinnerbaits with trailers that aren't like this, I always cut off the tubing and re-rig them this way. A trailer hook can get knocked to the side during a cast or hitting cover or whatever when it is riggen in the tubing. Rig one of yours like this or go out and buy a Strike King premier plus or KVD series spinnerbait to get an idea of how it works.

Yeah, I'll try it that way and also with the new tubing I got, which is 3/16.

a rigid trailer hook is always a bad idea.

Wow, mallen, I had no idea you made spinnerbaits. How would one go about getting some of these baits? I have been looking for a good bluegill colored spinnerbait for fishing the reservoirs around here. Please let me know.

Ryan

Cool sounds like some good mods on them so far, I'll let you know (if you don't know all ready) how the new skirts work.

I'm still tryin' to make em properly haha. I'll let you know though. I really do love the bluegill skirts. Really worked well for me last year. Don't know why I bother throwing any other color, really.

Right! I don't a camera.

Actually, you have the old skirts. I haven't added any of the new skirts in those colors yet. Only ordered 1 color to see if I liked them. They look to be as good, and I think they'll stay on better after a good bass fight.
