Indiana BASS Top 8 Tournament

I fished the Indiana BASS Top 8 tournament at Lake Patoka last weekend. The weather was brutal Saturday, and not so kind on Sunday either. Saturday started out at 55 degrees, and dropped all day long to 40 degrees. Sunday was bluebird, high pressure skies. It all started well, I weighed in 11.41lb on day 1 and was sitting in 12th place out of 190. Day 2 I blanked and dropped to 32nd. I wish I had day 2 to do over again...........and fished it my way vs. the boaters way but that is the dilemma of a boater vs. non-boater format.

Anyway, the reason I write this on the "bragging board" is because my day 1 weight was anchored by a 7.44lber. I wish I had a picture to show you guys, but I didn't get one. :-( I do have the weigh in slip I can share though.

Around these parts, that is real nice fish..........comparable to a 12-13lber in Florida, Texas, or California. I won't probably catch another like that again unless I head north to the Great Lakes for smallies or south to Kentucky Lake for some ledge fishing.

I had a great weekend to say the least, and the wife is enjoying the big bass $.

Congrats on the big sow bass CiK! And 32nd out of 190 isn't bad at all. Way to go.

Thanks everybody! I am bummed there isn't a picture of it. I never thought of pulling her out of the livewell and taking a picture on the boat because I thought there would be an opportunity at the weigh in site. I was wrong. They shuffled us through pretty quick. I won't make that mistake again...........for sure.

take it easy cik, it happens man. you did great in my opion. glad oyu got a huge one. been so long since i caught one over 9 inches i wouldn't know what ot do withit. lol.
you'll get another one buddy. keep on at it.

I second the "Patoka sucks" part. I've only fished it once for a BASS weekend series regional tournament but I won't ever go back if I don't have to either.
