Mattern Guide Service

Hello Everybody,

Psalm 119: 89-93

Forever, O Lord, thy Word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants. Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.

Lake Palestine:

Well the continued rain is keeping the Lake full to the rim with the North end being stained on a regular basis. Mid_ Lake to the Dam is clearer with water temps in the low to mid 80's. Bass have been comming to the boat up to about 6.5 lbs. with 25 a day a regular thing.

Bass ahve been hitting topwaters early such as tiny torpedoes blue or black back chromes also poppers in shad patterns, frogs, and buzzbaits. Spinnerbaits and shallow running crankbaits will also catch.

Plastics have been a little slower this yaer on Lake Palestine but the darker colors in Nichols salty Mother sinkers in Watermelon Candy will catch.

Bass are feeding on shad in the creek channels when it gets real hot in the day and some really good bass have been caught when no one will venture out in the heat.

Sam Rayburn:

Well Yesterday Bass came to the boat up to 6 Lbs. Bass were hitting Nichols Spinnerbaits and Phantom Tackle Worms. Spinnerbaits from Nichols were willow leafs in Chartruse/white and wackys worked in 4-8 feet near the grasses in watermelon red caught well through out the day. Carolina rigs with Zoom watermelon red speed craws worked in 9-12 feet in Hydrilla.

North end and Easley Flats both stained with Mid-Lake areas clear. Water temps in the low to Mid 80's. 3 were caught yesterday over or about 5 lbs. with some really solid 3 lbers. The early bite is best till it gets hot then you have to work for them but what a great way to work.
