Default Thought I had an upgrade.

Went out and braved the 25-35mph winds on Wednesday and thought I had an upgrade for the big bass contest for a minute. I pulled one of my homemade chatterbaits through a brushpile and she knocked slack in my line. It was at the end of a long cast and she rolled on top right away but all I saw was a big white belly, thought it was a catfish at first Then her big head and huge mouth came sloshing out of the water and I thought she might go 7 Once I finally got her in hand I knew she wasn't long enough, though she certainly had the girth she would have needed if she'd been a couple inches longer. It was a great numbers day, ended with 106 fish on the day, however she was one of only 3 fish I caught that went bigger than 15".
21.5" and 5.68lbs, she had an 8-10 inch spotted bass tail sticking out of her throat.

Sweet fish! And sounds like a great day. Looks pretty warm too.

Just curious, but what is your fish count to this year?

Thanks guys. It was a pretty fun day, would have liked to get a few more better quality fish but it's always nice to have those days they're eating everything. It was a very warm, windy day, high's in the low 80's with winds from 25-35mph from sun up to sun down. I'm shooting for at least 2500 for the year, but I'm really going to try to get to 3k on the year. As of last Wednesday I'm at 2370
