Thumbs up Central Florida - hurricane bass

Hurricane Sandy passed by off the Florida coast last night and the winds inland where I live were 15 - 20 mph with gusts to 30. My bass buddy couldn't fish today and there seemed to be little reason to try. So ... I decided to go anyway. Skies were overcast (not a bad thing) and I couldn't really keep my boat positioned where I wanted it, but I found a lee shoreline to fish and went about throwing worms at docks and other shore oriented features. The wind meant that I needed something with some weight, so I went with a Yamamoto kut-tail worm.

This was my first fish, a 4 and a half pounder caught under a dock

My second was this three and a half caught against a seawall

The final tally was 10 bass in three hours (all smaller than the first two). My trolling motor was earning it's keep, but the winds picked up to 20 - 25mph and I called it a day. Just goes to show that there ain't too many days too bad for fishing!

That'll teach your buddy not to go.
