Default GPS Fishfinder

I am currently using the two lowrance fishfinders that came on my boat. I want a unit w/ GPS. I know nothing about the GPS units. Will it work w/ my fishfinder on the front of the boat or should I buy a secondary unit also? Thanks

gps at the console is really handy, i would rather have it there than up front. one thing you could do if you like the units you have now is buy a hand held unit like the h20c from lowrance. you can buy the chips for them and they are great for starters. you can also buy ram mounts for them so they can be mounted wherever you want on the boat.

just a thought!

I use a handheld Magellan Explorist. Got a mount for it and it does a great job.
