Default I have a question

I am looking at getting a used boat from a guy i know that owns a Marine Dealership. He has a 1999 Javelin Venom 17 with a 115 Johnson. It has two depth finders, trolling motor, and stainless steel prop. The boat is very clean and in great shape. Because i know him he said he would re-run compression tests, change lower unit oil, and take me to the lake personally in the boat to run it. Is 5500 a fair price?

Welcome to the forum!

Sounds like a good price, and sounds like the guy selling it is not trying to take advantage of you. The fact he will do the compression test and let you lake test it before you buy is a big plus. Sounds like you found a good buy.

No, sounds like a terrible deal. Matter of fact, just to remove the temptation, I'm gonna buy it before you can.
Yeah, I know...taking one for the team.
Seriously, if compression checks out, no problems on the lake, I'd be all over it.

That boat and its 2 bigger brothers have always been a big success. Damn good boats and even though I am a Merc man those OMC 115's are just damn near bullet ptoof. If the compression and ride check out get it.

hope you enjoy the new boat. I have a 2000 renegade 19 with a omc 175, love my boat. Javelin's seem to be cheaper to buy since they are no longer made. Any good stratos dealer should be able to help order parts, decals, etc. if you need in the future.
