Default Quantium Catalyst

My dad just called me and told me there is a sale at Cabelas this weekend. One of the offers is a Quantium Catalyst for $99.99 and from what I can see online its about 25 to 30 bucks off, the reel also comes with either a 6 piece sexy shad kit or spooled up with line. ( I can not remember the exact line) My dad may have got a couple parts of the sale incorrect. My dad of all people wanted to get a couple of these if it is a good deal. So what do you guys think of the Quantium Catalyst...good or bad? is it worth it at this price?

Thanks for the help.

By the way, how far is he from Cabela's? You can get it online for that price, plus free shipping, as long as you spend 150 or more

I was surprised he called about the sale. After one of my classes he called me up and said he was thinking about picking up a couple for him and one for me. I didn't think he would want any for himself.....My dad mostly does salt water fishing for salmon and halibut. But I must be getting him into bass fishing.

Anyways he is only about an hour drive from Cabelas. And he loves going there for any reason. So I don't think he will be too worried about the drive.

I have 2 of them and 1 energy, and would buy more. If you put a cover on both them you would not pick out the energy very easy if at all. $99 is a darn good deal for this reel. No cheesy plastic, great breaking system.

Ok. I will let him know he should pick one up for himself. Then I can always take the lures it comes with.

My dad picked one up. got it spooled up with some P-line Flourocarbon and he also picked up two of the cabelas tournament series rods that were like 59.99 and buy one get one free. He got one medium action for Steelhead and one MH fast for bass fishing. He also picked up a few Frog Tog Rain gear. Ill be heading home for spring break in a week so ill get to check out his purchase.

I am looking seems I cant spot this deal on line. I dont have a Cabela's near me and would love to pick up 4-6 of these for my son's boat and to let others use while on my boat. (I am picky about my stuff and want to build some combos for guest) I have one of these reels and have 100% confidence in this reel.

I think it has already expired. It may have just been for that one week. My dad said it was a one day sale in the store, but sometimes he gets confused on stuff like that lol. but he picked one up so I'll have to check it out when I go home this weekend. I'll see if I can get him hooked on bass fishing too.
