You bought a wood wrapper, or an aluminum like I was showing. Which one is falling apart?

The plastic ones look interesting too,but I wonder if they will bow/warp over time?
Who said this hobby was a good way to make great fishing rods at low costs?

I wonder the same thing about the plastic version. He does have an interesting approach. They have an 8ft plastic power wrapper. I don't think i would need anything bigger than that.

It looks like its nylon or teflon, and not plastic. If that's the case it should last through a nuclear attack.

Revisiting this guys! I thought you might want to know that I contacted Okie Rod Building Tools about that plastic powered rod wrapper. He is no longer offering it. He said he was having too many complaints from customers who were expecting the same quality as a $350 powered wrapper and since his profit margin wasn't that great he discontinued it.

Since I haven't seen or used either one (his plastic or a PacBay), I am not sure what the downside was to his. He still offers the aluminum wrapper though.

Ok all you homemade hand wrapper guys!! After much consideration, I want to build myself a hand wrapper. The only caveat...........I want at least a 6ft base because I would really like to have something that I don't have to move around too much after I start. My workshop for rod building is my wife's dining room table and having a 6ft base would help A LOT.

I do have circular saws and jig saws, and since I don't need a router....I am good to go.

First things first...........what do I have to do? Post here, or send me an PM. I like instructions. i really want to get started on this.

Tony
