Got to Catch some fish today

Well Im not hear to rub anything in the faces of those snowbound fisherman. But, Today was great. Headed out to Stick Marsh about 7am, went straight for the nursery area. Wind sucked 20-25mph, wearin out the TM. On my way out of the stumps I threw a few different lures. 2 bass 3.0, 3.4 each. (Zilla- threw the parrot w/ feather tail, lost two coming up to the boat). Finally got tired of the whitecaps coming over the boat so I headed to the Northern side. This area is not considered Stick Marsh but is connected. This area is also not known for real good fishing. HAH! Well folks, counting the two earlier, I had ten fish weighed and released. Primarily used the Strike King bleeding spinnerbait, 1/2 oz., chartreuse. Caught and weighed 5 bass over 5 punds- 5.0,5.3,5.9,5.2,5.3, the last three were 2.5,3.2,2.8. My last few outings have been less than noteworthy, so this day has me really pumped right now. 7 hours on the water and the raccoon eyes and redneck to prove it. Like I said wind was cranking, overcast w/ occasional sun, about 75 degrees and water temp was 66 per depthfinder. Forgot the joy of having a 5 pounder tailwalk on ya. Zilla threw all my new lures today, got hits on most. Had some real good fish hit the ratltrap. Will hopefully have some pictures to put up when the film gets developed. 8)

I'm Jealous, nice outing indeed. Perhaps the fish have moved due to the Hurricanes damage? I definately would make a note of the spot.

sounds like you had a great day. Im off from school tommorow due to a teacher convention, and the high will be near 50 so i am going out tommorow. Once again nice job on the fish

was this today(march 17)? if so, u are lucky my friend. i was going to head out but the rain hasnt stopped. i guess u are clear of it all? anyways, sounds like a great day 8) congrats on all the fish.

No went out the 16th. Got back in a couple of hours before the storms ripped through.

went out today, got one ;D under a lb. i should of had 5 i was slow on the hook set today. they were aggressive tho, i didnt think they would be tho. theonly bass i caught swallowed the whole hook. i had to use the ''through the gills'' technique to get it out. i caught him on an alabama shad paca chunk. and that was about it. it was fun nontheless.

i went today too, didnt catch anything, but all the baits the bait monkey made me get, were tried out today, I think i got strikes on a jig, but they are so hard to use that i couldnt tell, my line went tight then went slack and i wasnt even hopping the jig at that time. Threw some spinnerbaits, the sky was blue with little cloud cover, so that is why they didnt work, left all my sopft plastics at home, because i was tryin to build confidence in my crankbait/jig/spinnerbait areas. Ahh well, tommorow is another day and im leaving early to go and try out the topwater action. I know it is probably to cold for top water, but it is always a chance to learn the fish a little better
