Default Cabela's Advanced Angler Pro Series Tackle Bags

Has anyone used these?

I'm still undecided on which tackle bags I want to go with, after my Gander Mountain / Flambeau one has disintegrated on me.

I'm looking at maybe a couple of the Magnum size (without boxes, of course, as I already have plenty of boxes ).

I have a very similiar bag but it says BASS PRO SHOP on it. I only use tackle bags when I'm on the back deck of someone else's boat. I see little need for one on the boat. But then my storage compartments have sides designed to insert 3700 size boxes in them and hold them upright. My boxes are stored loose in the compartments. Soft plastics are stored in six-pack coolers, with the associated tackle in the side pockets. I have one for Senko, worm and finesse. I have a couple plano boxes for the much smaller assortment of plastics I carry like creatures, tubes and lizzards.

Must be nice, Boogie. Trackers do not have such nice amenities.

I don't know how much you carry, I have owned this bag and the Cabelas red 3700 bag, the 3700 bag is what I curently use, it is more durable. None of them are a sgood as the old Wal Mart Ochee Chobee Fats bag, but they are not sold anymore.

I probably carry far, far too much, Dom. As evidence, I point out that my GM bag has a pull-out tow handle and casters. It was awesome while it lasted. The stitching in it just wore out in 4 or 5 places. It is falling apart before my very eyes.

BPS had a similar model called the "XPS Wheeled Stalker", but of course it is now discontinued as well.

Thats the exact bag I use. I love it. One nice thing about it is the fact that the trays stand on end. This allows you to get more trays in the same size bag, it's just a bit taller. The only thing that has gone wrong with mine after 3 years of use is 2 of the pull tabs on the zippers came off. I just slipped some small zip ties in the zipper and set them in a loop.

That's what I'm looking for, Kev. Testimonial to its durability. I don't want to spend another hundred bucks and have it self-destruct like my GM bag.

They work great and are easy to move around.

Zipper Tabs , One of the handles came undone, and it frayed, all in 2 years!
The 3700 stood up better
I am going to confess to be so cheap this is what I am going with next, found it at Wal Mart

mibasser Those are great also. If you only need to carry trays, you can't beat them. I have one that has 4 deep trays with nothing but plastics. I need to get another as I now own a small fortune worth of plastics. I got my Cabellas bag on sale for $30 bucks with trays. I switched the trays out because i love the angled trays in the Plano modular boxs, but use the cabelas trays in my boat.

I have that exact bag in the large version. I've been very pleased with it. After two years it's still like new. Seems to hold up well. Very roomy pockets and neat features throughout the bag. I think you'd be happy with one.

I know some guys that are putting vertical file organizers in their compartments similiar to this and I've also seen them in plastic, but wasn't able to find an example. The plastic would be nice in a marine environment, but prone to breakage. The wire would be stonger for sure. Allows you to stand your 3700 plano boxes on their sides and hold them im place, very east access and organized storage.

Just an idea for another option other than a bag. It's a preference, I don't like a bag out on deck, and it almost has to be to access what you need from it. They can be found at your friendly neighborhood Walmart.

Well, after hemming and hawing for a couple weeks, I finally made my choice.

Rather than buy two big bags, I bought three smaller ones.

Now I can really break my tackle down into what I'm fishing for, and not just lure type. Because as Bubba knows....I fish for everything haha.

Ironically...these things were on sale....WITH BOXES...LOL. I didn't need them, but hey...free is free.

Three of these with boxes cost less than two of the big green ones without boxes. A no brainer.

I'm sure Anthony will love the sexy yellow and black colors.

HAHA...yes, I'd better be careful, or technically, it could be construed as a "fashion ensemble." I don't want to have to give up my man card.

I was going to buy the Magnum sized Advanced bag last season. I procrastinated and didn't. I could have saved money with the end of the season sale. Now unless I hit a sale, I'll pay top dollar. I do need a new bag, my super sized plano modular has seen it's days. The front latch opens and I have 4 3700's on the floor.

plano makes a really nice bag too. i dont remember the number they gave it but i found it at sports authority. it comes with 7 plano trays and the bottom is rubber/plastic for waterproof, and it wasnt that expensive either. plano are the tackle experts man, go with them. the thing has lasted me a couple seasons already and thats with slidin around in my bed and throwin it down in the dirt and sticks and such.

By the way, Anthony....I hate these 3750 boxes....Stuff just doesn't fit right. Maybe they'll be okay for worm rigging tackle......

After all that, you don't like the boxes you didn't even need?! So they're not regular 3700s? well that sucks, lol. I guess now you'll have to buy some!
