Default What is the one lure......

What is the one lure that you thought was going to be a Hawg slayer (whether from action or appearance) that in the end produced nothing and got benched?

Strike King Wake Shad. Didn't fish it much before a buddy lost it in a tree. But the little I fished it I didn't catch a thing. But sitting here right now, I'm thinking of some places in Florida where it would have been great! Only fished it in Lake Osborn for a bit, so I guess it's not a great comparison! lol

Tru-Tungsten 4" swimbaits have been a bit of a disappointment for me as well. Got two at TW for real cheap, and only caught a few little ones on it... but I didn't expect it to be a hag producer (>5lbs) but I thought it would produce better fish than it has.

Skeet Reese Fat Smasher. Didn't even make it to the pond, tryed it in the pool had no action. That went back to the store. JUNK to the fullest.

Sebile Magic Swimmer - I've thrown it & given it a fair chance locally, down at Buggs, Wheeler, G'ville, Florida and Canada but even Canadian pike won't hit that lure - and they will hit anything (except the Sebile ).

It's gotta be the Dancin' Eel for me. The Yum Money Hound is going to go on the list pretty soon, I'm afraid.

The Tru-Tungsten 4" swimbait, like boss mentioned. After 3 years, have yet to get a single strike.

Just curious Don, the lakes that you fish in, do they have much weedy cover? Lakes that are relatively clear of weeds I rarely have luck with spinnerbaits except around wood and docks. And I'm a spinnerbait guy. But I work them around weedbeds and brush mostly.

Strike King Sexy Swimmer, Tru Tungsten 4" swimbait, and Jackall Giron. Just haven't had much luck with any of them. I've caught fish on all of them, just nothing like I had pictured in my mind to.
Dave-Don't give up on that Money Hound, they are a great bait if you can find the right place for them.

3:16 wake Jr., but I haven't completely given up on it. Going to wait until the summer to start throwing it again. Funny, the tru tungstens, all sizes, are some of my most consistent producers as far as hard swimbaits go. One, that I do think is a real loser, the triggerfish by thinktank, I'm glad I didn't pay for it.

mostly fish rivers main channels and shore line close to house with price of gas and all. most structure is wood laydowns and buffs / ledges to 30 plus feet. tried to throw in wood have better luck with worms and jigs.

He's been like that since you took him fishing and let run the Rajun Cajun.

Got some even bigger EWG Gammy hooks to try (Look even bigger than 7/0, there's no size on the package). We'll see if that works any better. I love the concept, but they seem like a PITA to get hooked up on.

aaaaaaaayep dog, the Triggerfish here too. Thought it would be a great bait like toads and buzzbaits.
