Default Bait Monkey Academy

I went against my better judgment tonight. I am sitting here in Lafayette, LA at a rigger's training course, unassisted and unchaperoned. So I decided to go to Academy's. I had been wanting to look at the H2Os. I found some, or should I say, they found there way in to my little grandma's basket. They have got some nice colors. I picked up a few of them, a couple of DTs in the bream and baby bass, a Bandit 300 in the bream (I finally found that son of a gun BB144). I wanted in the 200, but I will try the deeper one out until I hang it in a top. I also got a couple of other H20 products, a Rat-L-Trap, so clearance items, a ruler and cheap scale, and the new FLW. I was reading in it and it has Aikenyounggun article about winning the Junior National Guard Championship. All that and $80 dollars later.

And now I am bored. I hate hotels.

You will love the H2O's, they are great baits. I have heard from a reliable source that they are made by Lucky Craft, actually in the same building as Lucky Craft.

Well if that is true, I will buy a 3.79 bait over a 15+ any day. They do look nice though.

Those H20 baits are great, I buy them whenever I can, they are somewhat limited in styles though. Check out the H20 brand paddle tail swimbaits too, they are cheaper than all the rest and have a great action!

I've heard the Lucky Craft rumors too, I can't verify that but I heard from a reliable source that Academy is going to start selling online in March or April.

The H2O products do well against the RC/LC crankbaits on the river. Very similar in size and movement and definately a lot cheaper. One of the guys in my club gets them when he travels on business. No Academy's around here.

I looked for them Waffle, but didn't see them. BB144, all I could find was the Series 300 in the Bandit. I did get a the DT 6 & 10 in the bluegill though. They have about the same scheme.

For those of you that do have Academy's near, check out Big Bite Baits. I know it has been posted on here before but Academy usually has a good selection. They are good soft plastics on the super cheap!! Like $2 per 10 cheap. Tons of colors and styles.

I tend to do more collecting of lures than actually using them... but looks liek a pretty good haul.. and I prefer that style scale myself as it is easier to tell the weight than an ever changing digital scale

I got it because I haven't seen a digital scale last over a year. They get wet and quit working, at least in my case. Hopefully it will pay for itself when I win big bass this year, hahahaha.

I heard it from a sales rep so I am leaning towards believing it.

Also like Jrob said, Big Bite softplastics are great baits for the $

I was in there yesterday and saw a whole wall of the Big Bite plastics, but didn't need anything specific, and kept walking. I might drop by there later on and get some.

I really like their beaver baits called Yo-Mamas, Kriet Kreatures, Squirrel tail worms, Cane Sticks and check out the Fighting Frogs. I've used their Senko style baits too. Great selection!!

The magazine had the Swimbaitkid article for the national championship, not AYG. I just wanted to clear that up, I couldn't find the edit button.
