It is a beaut' for sure, but be careful when telling a bunch of grizzled old bass fishermen how much it weighs if you're not sure or if you're stretchin' it a bit. You don't want to get nominated for a Pink Hoodie Award.

I'm glad you told us what you caught him on, because from the looks of that glove, I figured you were noodlin'!

Keep up the good work.

i have 4 bags of zellamanders that are autographed by zell rowland. the writer from b.a.s.s. that wrote our bassmaster article knows zell and had him sign a few bags of zellamanders and a few pictures and mail them to us. he also let me listen to a few recorded interviews he did with zell and i have to say that he is a freaking funny dude, i have never laughed so hard in my life.

anyways that is a nice fish, i agree with a few others that the fish doesn't look like 9lbs in the picture but that is the funny thing about pictures. some fish will look way bigger than they are and other fish will look a lot smaller so i'm not doubting you.

The boys are just having a little fun with ya. Thats not the worst embellishment I've ever seen. And I had a fish a few years ago that went 7 on a scale and almost 10 if you did the forumla with length and girth...and looked in the range of 8 1/2 or so....so who knows. Naturally I normally use the larger weight to describe the fish. After all, I'm pretty sure the scale was stolen out of a 50 year old piggly wiggly and used to weigh fruit. Not the most accurate looking thing in the world.

I can see that. From my experience, Holding fish like you where holding it makes a fish look smaller than holding a fish vertically. But you did hold it the right way for a fish that big! I caught a 3lber and posted a pic of me holding it horizontally, people said it was probably 12." Than I posted the pic of the one of me holding it vertically, and people did say it looked closer to around 3lbs... so who knows!

Congrats on the pig... again!

Good Catch man. Sometimes we get a little jealous of other people catch. Like now I'm jealous of that one pounder your holding. I would use that thing for bait.lol

The way I look at it, since I fish and am around water so much, I stay fat for my health and safety. How many of us fat guys have you ever seen fall out the boat and not float?

What WTL said. That is a nice size fish, not so sure about 9 lbs though. Remember a big fish is relavent to what area you are in. But it's hard to tell from a picture. Next time you hold one to take a pic, place your hand further toward the tail and let the belly hang. I think your hand might be hiding some weight by pushing the belly in.

Now don't go getting any ideas about getting a bicycle pump and pumping air into it's belly. Them things stink when they burp. Joking of course.

that was a good fish man, don't be discouraged at all. probably not a 9lber but still a good fish and worthy of pictures. thanks for sharing the pictures and keep it up.

This bad boy would weigh about 5.5 lbs. on your scale, then?

Seriously, your bass is an absolute trophy for New Jersey.
