Default dead sticking

When you dead stick what should you do when you run into things such as weeds, stumps, branches, ect.? Hop it over and continue dead sticking or pull it through the cover?

Dodge is right on........as soon as you nudge a weed, for example, let it drop and deadstick it right there.....after a period of waiting, lift the rod slowly and as soon as you bump another weed, let it drop again and wait. Takes patience, but works very well. If you feel it crawl over a branch or stick, let it rest once its free.

If deadsticking a jig and pig, here is a variation. Once you feel it stop along the bottom, jiggle it. It will appear to be trying to burrow under the object it just came in contact with....a gentle jiggle will do. If deadsticking a senko type lure, use the first method.
