Default Doesn't get any better....

Okay, so the catch was no more than a couple of dinks, but I think the picture speaks a thousand words!

Love those trips... that is why I love fishing, even if nothing is biting.

That's one of the parts of fishing I LOVE!!! Plus seeing all the wildlife, deer, turkey, bald eagle. My PC wall paper right now is of the bald eagle we saw on my birthday 4 years ago at Taylorsville lake.

Beautiful sunset there. My home lake has awesome sunsets. But i gotta love the early mornings right before a tournament, the hustle and bustle of the launch ramp... I look up at the sky and see the sunrise amongst the chaos and i say to myself... this is where I belong....

Abbey, I have a little familiarity with your neck of the woods... and it sure is pretty that way. Great picture.

I blew outta work on Friday at 2pm, picked up some worms and had the boat in the water about 4pm. We drove around, fished for awhile, then had dinner on the water (homemade subs and such). Drove around a bit more, then did some trolling and ending float fishing where the picture was taken.

What is truly surreal is when it starts to get dark a quiet stillness falls over the lake. I couldn't see any other boats at all and the water was very calm. I hooked up the lights and tested before the sun went down and when it did, I turned them on. I'd never been on the water after dark before, so this was new. I could only see lights across the lake coming from the salt mine. Other directions, it was very dark. I was surprised how much light my dash instruments had, kind of annoying when I finally drove back to the launch (would've been nice to dim them down).
The red beacons at the launch made getting back in easy, but next time I'll carry a small light for the hookup. And I had a tough time backing the trailer in in the dark until I killed the dome light (on because the rear hatch was open)..
But new ground and now I'll enjoy staying out after dark, especially if they're biting.
Need more light for the boat for times like this - perhaps just a couple of battery powered lantern like lights or something a bit more (deck lights) tied into the TM battery.
Anyway, it was great and a few lessons learned.

Thumbs up

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, and you boys understand perfectly:

You don't fish for fish, you fish for fishin'.

That picture is a perfect illustration.

Sure nuff, down by Van Buren and Chowing lane ramps, in that area. Either at dawn or right before dusk, we've seen at both times. Also Lake Linville, and on Cedar Creek Lake.

Great pic Abbysdad. Just reminds me I'll be going on vacation next month and will be fishing for a whole week. I love it when the sun rises too.
