Only sharks I ever caught were fishing Ponce Inlet (almost every day...wow, I miss it), and they were just little 16" bonnetheads...still, fun...even at 1lb, they have some nasty choppers.

They are mostly sands with a few big dusky thrown in. We used 50lb braid, live bait, 9/0 circle hooks and 60lb mono leaders. 20 hooks later we switched to wire leaders but they get chomped off too. After four hours of doubles and triples on we ran out of wire and hooks.

Target was tarpoon but a toothey shark and runs to the reel backing was fantastic.

Man thoose guys can fight. And they run thru the anchors with two on is fire drill after fire drill. Lasted four hours and man did I loose some fluids in that heat.

You may notice the bobbers we used to keep the bait up away from the sharks... good plan right? Hahaha...

No matter we did try for the poon's

next year maybe...

Nice shark! My and I where fishing on a boat and he hooked into a big 6 foot reef shark, fought it for an hour, than when it got to the boat, he bit the line!

Musta been fun mike!
