Default Potomac River Bass

Went out on the Potomac Saturday with a buddy of mine. We fished from 6:00am to 6:30 pm. Long day with not a lot to show for it. I think we boated 9 or 10 total with several misses and quick releases! We managed a few nice ones though. Most of our fish came off Spro frogs, SK Ochos, and Babybrushhogs. Oh and 1 jig fish. The 4.3 in the first pic was on a BBH and the 3.3 was on a S&W jig with a Paca Craw chunk (black/blue).

Nice fish and nice pics. Glad ya were able to get some nice ones on a slow day. That always makes it much more enjoyable at the end of the day.

Negative. We stayed down south and fished mostly Arkindale, Wades, and Aquia. Stayed in the grass!

Sunday they were feeding up. A friend caught and lost quality fish out of the grass and weighed 18+ and took 4th place. We caught 14.3 lbs and had the kicker hooked up but wrapped itself around some pads and busted off before we could get it in the net. Cost us a check. Senko's and floating worms over grass and in pads worked for us.

We probably had around 15 lbs Saturday. We lost a couple fish that would have put us around 17+. We didn't get a lot of bites but the ones that did were good fish. I caught one fish on a frog that was around 13"... that was our smallest fish of the day but he would have been culled!

I'm done on the Potomac now. Next month will be all James/Chick. Have a tx on the Chick on the 15th and the Castaways on the 22nd. I need to make some extra $$ to support the "hunting monkey" in a couple months!!!

Thats sounds like a good day. This time of year I catch less fish but the last 7 times ive hit the potomac we have put a 4+ on the boat and two 6's. I havent fished mattawoman in awhile been launhing outta belle haven and hitting the spoils and surrounding waters. Ive found that most of the bigger fish are coming out of deeper water (powerhawgs and chigger craws on a football head jig). But you gotta love that spro frog bite!
