Default Kayak Rods??

I was flipping through the BPS 09 Master Catalog last night and noticed rods described as Kayak Rods. What, other than marketing, makes a rod specific for Kayak fishing? I can understand the okuma that floats, but other than that what is different on them? Luckily the bait monkey has no interest in them, so this is just general curiosity.

I'm not so much curious about a Kayak rod as I am about what kind of bait you use to catch a Kayak...

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Well, if I am driving the Kayak, I believe any hook dipped in Whiskey would help. Perhaps a cold beer twitched like top water would work as well.

The only thing that I could think of is that they are shorter? Sounds like a gimmic to sell more rods that are just the same as other rods. Next thing they will think of is having "bank" or "boat" rods. I can see it now. The game warden writes you a ticket for using a "bank" rod on a boat.
