Default Lake Fork Weekly Report

The Bass fishing this past couple of weeks has been very good for us in both deep and shallow water. Depending on what the weather has been each day, we have boated from 15 fish on bad days to 55 fish on good days. We have caught a lot of Bass in the 7-9 lb range and this past week we had some Bass boated in the 10 and 12 lb class. Andy Bardach caught a 12.43, Doug Winters caught a 12.31 and I caught a 10.21 in the past couple of days in less than 10 feet of water. We are catching more Bass and better quality Bass by staying as far away from the banks as we can and making long casts. We still have large groups of Bass making their way into spawn but most of the fish are moving off the banks real quick due to the number of fishermen trying to site fish. The smaller Bass are up close to the shore while the larger trophy size Bass are in 6-10 feet of water. We are only about half way finished with our spawn so look for the Bass fishing to remain good for some time and after that the deep water will be great all the way into July and August.

Lake Fork is in great shape right now and the fishing is good. The water temperature on the main lake is in the low to mid 60's while some of the coves are in the 70's. The water is mostly clear and we are still about 1-2 feet low. Over all look for some good fishing to continue for a long time.

We will continue to Bass fish fish all year and in early June we will start back with our Cat Fishing that will run until the end of November. We will start our Crappie fishing again in late September. We have set out brush in over 40 different areas and most of these spots are holding good numbers of fish right now. To set up a trip with us give us a call at 903 383-3282 or e-mail us at jjguides@hotmail.com.

Until next time, Good Luck and Great Fishing !!!!
