Wednesday Fish Tale Pt. 1
Packed up this morning and left the house around 8 (I know, I know, but yes that late). Headed down to a reservoir about 45 minuted south of Toledo in search of some big bluegills.
Got there, put a wax worm on, and immediately caught a small bluegill. It went like this for about 2.5 hours. I got one keeper not long after I got there, which I threw back because it wasn't as big as I was looking for. They frequently catch 10" bluegill, and I was looking for fish 8" and up. After more dink, I decided to go. As I was leaving, I noticed a path to the back of the reservoir where I could access some areas we fished a couple years ago in the boat. I drove around and looked for the place I knew there were a couple submerged christmas trees. when I though I was close, I threw my hook out, and caught the best fish of the day. he was about 7", but after over two hours with dinks, I didn't care. in the cooler he went. All in all, I ended up with three fish all about the same size, biggest going maybe 8". Not what I had hoped for, but my dad and I are going back this weekend with the boat. With three already caught, we need more for a fish fry. Now I'm off to the local reservoir to try and catch me some bass. my part two report will come later, maybe some some pics of the bluegills. BB

So I got back a little bit ago. I didn't take much tackle with me, just 15 rod and reel combos, about 60lb of soft plastics, and two full tackle bags full of hardbaits.
Kidding of course. I took a couple spinnerbaits, some senkos for wacky and texas rigging. and a hollow belly swimbait. I fished everything but the swimbaits. I got a few bites, most of which felt like bluegills tapping at the end of the senko. One was a real nice hit and I wasn't payin attention. DOH! After a while, I decided to head home cause it's fairly hot and REALLY humid, lol. Better luck next time. BB
