Thats How To Start Memorial Day Weekend!
Ryan and I went to a private pond that has some nice largemouth but are hard to catch on Friday. First cast I stuck a fish that went 2-3. He was caught on a 1/16 oz bullet weight with a drop shot hook. Then I wacky rigged a Strike King Zero on it. About 5 casts later I got another fish that went 1-8. That fish was caught on a green pumpkin 1/8 oz spot remover with a Mizmo Scorpion Worm in GP. About ten casts after that I caught another that went 1-11. On the same rig too! I had 3 on Fridany that went 5-6!
Then Ryan and I went this morning to a little marina on Lake Erie. Half an hour into the day I had a 1 somehing largemouth. I dont remember the weight. That was caght with 1/4 oz spot remover with a GP Mizmo Scorpion worm. After no more bites on that I decided to try for some rock bass. I threw on a little inline spinner. I was skipping it up next to a wall when I felt a thump. I missed it. I threw back in there and I got him. I was like thats a nice rock bass! Turns out a largemouth came jumping out of the water! Way better than a rock bass!He went one something also. We moved to a different marina farther down the road and the inline spinner produced again. I caught about a 5 inch bass! I hope the rest of Memorial Day weekend stays this hot!
