Exclamation A new knot from the inventor of the Fish-N-Fool knot

Hi Guys;
I have come up with a new line to line knot for tying braid to a mono leader. In all my tests so far it is superior to my old favorite the 5 turn uni to uni.
To tie it you wrap one line around the other 8 times fold both tags up and wrap them around each other another 8 times like you are making an 8 turn square knot. The ez way to do this is to wrap the leader around the braid on both the bottom and upper loops running it over the top of the braid. Like this;

The secret to tying this knot is not to wet it. If you wet it, it will slip out as you tighten it, but if you tighten it dry first it does not seem to burn the line at all and is very strong. Then it can get wet and it will not slip. The other thing that's important is to leave the tag ends long to you can pull both the tags and lines with equal pressure as it tightens. This knot is very clean once tyied and goes through the guides well. Tags can be trimed short with no problem.
Try it for yourself and see what you think.

You know, at first I thought this knot would be hard to tie, but turns out it is a piece of cake. You just have to watch which tag end goes over the other, just like a regular square knot.

I just practiced this with some mono....I really need to test the strength, but so far....thumbs up.

It just looks like a square knot times 10 wraps. I am going to try it out though. I tend to swear under my breath with the Albright knot I use for mono to braid.

I tried the Albright knot about 20 times, swore a lot, then erased it from my memory. Only the Rapala Knot has caused me more grief. It would take a tattoo on the back of my hand of instructions to get me to tie the Rapala Knot out on the water.

On a side note....maybe the reason all of those DT cranks break off at the lip is because we didn't use the Rapala Knot?

Yeah...that's the ticket.

Jeeze, I can't really tell how to tie it from the illustration, but if it's like a square not like they've said, than I should be able to do it fine.

Perhaps a step by step illustration?

I see it, just not grasping all of it yet. So both tag ends are on the same side?

Yes.....that's what makes it so much easier to tie than I thought.

I reworked the diagram some that should help you get the idea better.
