cranky,

Who wrote that book and where did you get it? I have an 11 hour plane ride next week and then again the following week and I think that I will need something to kill time.

its written by dick sternberg
it wont be on the cover, the cover just has a guy holding a huge bass and there is a pinkish straighttail worm haning ogg of his rod. the guy is wearing a blue shirt and a black ranger hat. the cover- on top is says in small letters the freshwater angler
advanced bass fishing
and under the bass it says tips and techniques from the country;s best guides and tournament anglers.

got it at barnes and noble. its a great book, you wont regret buying it... like did you know that drilling holes ina buzzbaits baldes will make lots of bubbles?

im guessing that was a joke... but anyways heres a link to the book, its 7 bucks on amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/086...rpecarpiofishd

got a tond of other stuff too... like wrap wire around your hooks to make a floating jerkabit suspend or sink. or use golfers tape to weight baits... boil soft plastics to straighten them. stick a nail before the hook bend for better casting and action. a jig head at eye at tip is better than eye at top. use stiff mono to tie around the hook eye. make 2 knots and leave small tag ends. then whne texas rigging the worm wont slide. theyve also got lots of techniques. havent read those yet

A tip contest....such a contest if ever engendered on this board would have a victor before said contest ever truly began....

The magnificent PnJ, inventor of the general theory of gripper teeth, is indeed the originator of the bass-fishing tip. I dare suggest he sue the BASS for plagiarism, as any and all bass fishing tips (such as may be contained in your book) can only be traced to his incredible cornicopia of knowledge! When Locke postulated the idea of Tabula Rasa, I dare say that he had never invisioned that true knowledge can and has always innately existed, in the catacombs of Ivan's mind!

(sorry PnJ, it had just been a while since I did one of these posts)

I got the tip of the week:

Try tying a spoon on in front of your crank bait. remove the treble hook from your spoon and tie on a crank bait 4 inches below the spoon. The new lure will look like a bluegill trying to catch a minnow.

Robby.

Default PopR tip

next time ya get short strikes on the popR, take a 15 inche leader and tie on to the back treble, and put a small crappie jig/tube on the other end..the fish sees that jig hopping and either will go for it or the popR..its also a way of getting a few crappies

Cranky, What may work for one person, may not work for everyone else.We are individuals joined together to share ideas that may provide as a shortcut in learning to use different lures, or techniques.Nothing is carved in stone( this last phrase was stolen from Rebbasser) P N J

Well, it ain't !

Leave treble hooked baits on your rod and don't want them to get tangled up or impale yourself?

http://www.bassproradio.com/Articles/Covers.html

They work EXTREMELY well.

Iniquity is not a very favorable word.I typed faster than my thoughts could be rearranged to be suitable for public view.I doubt many people that are here now, were around then. I was listening to Bob Dylan and the gripper teeth theory entered my mind, rattled around , until I kicked the idea around out on the water to see if there were any truth in it.Robert Zimmerman is the genius, through his music I was able to create a theory , I was not capable of doing on my own.
