Default Mattern Guide Service on Lake Fairfield

Mattern Guide Service on Lake Fairfield

Hello Everybody,

Galations 3: Verse 29; And if you be Christ's then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Well as you know when water temps dip into the 40's and 50's I begin Guiding for Bass on Lake Fairfield. A day on Lake Fairfield can be quite refreshing with all the wildlife you will see in the State Park.

Eagles are there along with many Hawk species. Whitetail deer feed along the roads and the banks of the Lake along with wild pigs and alot of racoons.

The Lake has a Power Plant which warms the lake as the water is discharged from the plant at about 75-84 degrees into the Lake.

Water temps were running from 66 to 75 depending where you were on the Lake today. About 20 Bass came to the boat up to around 5 lbs. Bass were hitting shallow running crankbaits in Fire tiger and tennessee shad patterns worked in about 2-6 feet. These same baits were catching a scattered redfish up to about 6 lbs.

I caught most of my fish up to 5 lbs. on carolina rigs worked off main lake points in 6-15 feet. I was using french fries in watermelon Candy.

The Bite was what I would consider slow today and you had to work for the bites but when you found one you had a school in that location you could work on them. The Bass have not moved to the reeds and the banks just yet but are staging near cover on the first breaklines out from the banks and off the points. The Bigger females are full of eggs and will begin in late December to early January to make their move to those banks providing some great action.

The Lake will be closed to fishing from December 2nd through the 7th and again from December 30th through January 4th for special deer hunting so book your trips accordingly. To book a trip on Lake Fairfield just call us at 903-478-2633 or 903-724-1203 or E-Mail me.

Thanks and God Bless. Remember my sponsors and remember Jesus loves you and died on a cross for your sins and you can recieve Him in your heart right now just believe and say Jesus come into my heart and save me from my sins. And you will become a new Creation in Jesus today,.
