National Guard Junior World Championship!
First day, I caught my first fish fishing behind a 2 other kids, that had already fished the spot before we got there.(we were boat 37 out of 40)
Until I caught that fish I was shakeing bc i was so excited, I caught 2 more fish that day,all on Dry Creek Outfitters 3&1/2in Tube,Bama Craw Color with 1/4oz jig head. And I got to ride in Chip Harrison's boat So I won the Western Division, for my age group(15-18) with 3 fish going 3lbs 5oz. Saturday it was idle only bc the fog was laying on river,so I started like 100 yards away from the ramp on 2 drainge pipes that came from the streets.I caught my biggest fish of the day within the first 10 casts of the day,1lb 14 oz largemouth on a Excalibur 1/2oz Lipless crankbait,Cartruese and Blue. There were people watching us,so it was pretty cool to catch the big fish literally off the end of the launch dock. We left that spot and came back to it 4 or 5 times thoughout the day and everytime Daryk Eckert and I came back we would catch 2 or 3 fish. All with people watching us from the weigh in trailer and the park. Then we pulled up to it for the last time,Daryk and I hook up at the same time! Tim Klinger nets his fish, dumps it into the bottom of the boat and gets mine in the net, with everybody from all the other divisions watching us in the last couple of minutes of the day! I ended up culling out 1 fish and caught 2 more before weigh in.I caught all my fish on the tube, or a little Berkley 4in Power Worm for a follow up if they didnt eat the tube. So I weighed in a limit, going 6lbs 7oz's winning the older at age group, for the National Guard Junior World Championship Both the pro's were super nice guys, and Daryk is a good Fisherman for sure, you will see more of him in the future. Daryk Eckert won the younger age group also, for the 11-14 year old World Title And the Flip Clips work,1 of my fish swallowed the hook, and was bleeding when I unhooked it and the fish couldnt stay upright in the live well so i put a clip on him for the rest of the day,and he was good to go by weigh in time. Here's a couple pictures and the FLW story http://tbf.flwoutdoors.com/tournamen...009&aid=150191 Last edited by swimbaitkid; 08-03-09 at 02:56 PM. |

Keep stacking up money and you'll have your college paid for in advance. It would be sweet indeed to go to college free, and graduate with a pro bassin' career already lined up, if that's where you're wanting to go.
