Jake's first bass
I took my 6 year old son Jake over my dad's the other evening to fish in the pond. He loves to throw a Spro Frog but has never hooked a bass on his own. Well that finally changed. He lost a couple fish and I told him he needs to jerk back as hard as he can next time to set the hook. The next explosion he set the hook like there was no tomorrow. He fought this fish in like the new world record. I helped him lift it up on the bank and finally Jake caught his first bass by himself. It weighed maybe close to 2 lbs. He was very excited and we had a great night. I caught 7 more including a 4 lber and he reeled them all in. He is absolutely "hooked" on fishing!!!!

Love it! Nothing more fun than your kid catching fish... Soon enough you'll learn the golden rule of father son fishing, Son will always out fish father.

Thanks guys! I'm proud of him. I've been taking him to the golf course most times I go and he missed a hawg on the frog a little while back. He caught a few bluegills and crappie with worms but he didn't like to fish with a bobber (my boy!). I'm hoping he will tie into one of those golf course giants soon!

That's my dad's house. The pond is in the front yard. Not real big. When you go out the drive and take a left my house is up the hill on the right. Those fish are hard to make bite in that pond. They've been "schooled" numerous times before!
