Default One good rant deserves another...

HAHA, just thought I would throw this out there, as if we needed more reasons to complain.

I filled out and filed my taxes almost 2 months ago, with direct deposit. I STILL have not received my refund check. They say they had to delay refunds because they had been set up to process them according to the new tax rates Obama had wanted, and then had to backtrack when he was forced to accept an extension of the current tax rates.

I don't suppose I can use this argument on my bills, can I?

Creditor: NFE, um....you're behind on your January and February bills....please remit your payment NOW.

Me: Um....see, I thought I was going to get a raise....but I didn't...so I'm going to have to pay you a couple of months later, okay?

Yeah....that'll happen.

I was surprised, mine return came in 2 weeks - a day earlier then expected - both fed and state.

But I have heard many that are "expecting" returns are getting IOU's.....

We are still waiting on ours as well. It's been about 4 weeks now since we filed.

The government runs out of money and we just have to wait to get our refund, but imagine the penalties if we ran out of money and they had to wait for us to pay taxes.

Dirty bastages....

I e-filed my taxes on Jan 22, one hour after being handed my W-2's. (I'm such a procrastinator, I know.)

The IRS accepted my return on Feb 15.

I finally called today to find out what the hold up is.

They tell me there's a problem with my SSN on one of the sub-schedules. I look at the file, it's right there, clear as day, so this has to be their internal screw up. Either that, or they found out I'm a registered Republican and want to bust my balls.

They also tell me my refund might be another 8 weeks.

Is it any wonder I HATE the government?

It's like having a greedy uncle (Sam) that moved in. Makes messes everywhere he goes, spends yer money like a drunken congressman, makes all sorts of promises....
I guess we expect too much and get too little.
