the two spinnerbaits on the left in the top picture are absolutely sweet. I've actually tried to find those colors in a blade for forever. No one really makes those color combinations in a skirt, though. Very nice work Reb, I would love to get one like the top left with colorado blades on it....bass killer for sure.

Thanks, Ken. The reason I started making them is because I couldn't find the blade colors/combos I wanted. Copper/gold combos are almost non-existant in commercially available spinnerbaits.

You're not kidding, and its really a shame. I bet they would sell like hotcakes if someone made em commercially. I think that at some point, I'm gonna start making blades myself. They are my favorite bait, no doubt about it, and I do as much "customizing" as I can with store-bought products that it only makes sense for me to do the whole thing.

Those heads you have look a lot like Terminator heads, any idea if any big companies use them?

I don't know. I get them from http://www.staminainc.com/main.html. They are the King spinnerbait heads-not titanium but work real well. I ordered all the components-beads, clevis, swivels, skirts-from there. Check your PM and ler me know if you are interested .

Ya need to throw together some single colorado blade together, for a more suttle slow approach, other than that the ones ya show are awesome

Dang I didn't know you could make baits too FYI you can always change out or remove blades from existing spinnerbaits, to create your "OWN" variation, without having to buy all of the parts to make them. They have a local shop near here that sells all the wires, blades, snap rings, swivels etc... I can just buy the size and color of blades I need and replace them on my titanium spinnerbaits, along with skirts etc...

Fish On, I haven't really done an analysis, but I'm probably saving a buck or two on each bait. Plus, I can make them the way I want and when you catch one on a bait you made it is that much better.

Rather than PM you on what I use I'll post it on a new thread-that way if anyone else is interested they can see it-I don't have any big secrets or anything.

i can answer that. NO!!! if i did not use custom blades it still cost average of $10 each. but what you end up with is a blade that is exactly what you are wanting instead of digging through piles of baits to find the right blade/color/weight combo.plus it gives a certain sense of satifaction when you do catch a fish on one.
every one here on this board works a blade differantly and around differant structure ie. grass,laydowns, docks, ect.. no cookie cutter blade will fit all of these structure types or water clarity. yes a blade is the most versital bait currantly known to man. and yes it is the most modified bait ever made...while a cookie cutter blade will catch fish. you can modify it to your personal style. figure out what you do to a blade when you open the package and how you set up the bait after a bass straightens it like a paper clip..tuning and personal preferance dictate what your bait looks like when in use.

Since you are the one who is thinking about selling them I'll let you figure it out . Figure a body, 4 beads, a clevis, a swivel, blades and a skirt plus shipping. You can get all the pricing info at the Stamina site.

Actually, you got me curious. Had a reciept handy with the components listed so I ran the numbers and it came to about $3. Shipping will depend on where you are.

i use a wire bending tool made for spinner baits to attach the hook to the wire,the r bend and to make the end loop on the end of the arm. the end loop must be bent almost perfect as to #1 not let the swivel get loose and #2
beads and or spacers to get in to the loop fouling the swivel.perventing the "right" action coming from the blade.

the first two ya don't have to worry about as they are already done for you-usein rebs style- the end loop is a crital part in any spinner bait. it can be done with pilers but it must be nice and tight against the arm wire. the tool i use does this very easily..

Rebbasser, Can you cut the wire off from the head and screw a eyelet in the head so they look more like a jig ? Just kidding , we all need a spinnerbait or in the tackle pack.For the record, I wasn't at all surprised by you building your own. P N J
