Default Hot Bite on Cranks

I got about 20 bass yesterday on a crank throwing it around grass but then tonight I only got one to slap it. Only difference was the water was like glass tonight whereas we had some wind the other day. Tired everything else. I think they were just spooky with no wind.

I've been having a lot of luck lately w/deep diving cranks. I'm looking for the bigger females lurking in the deep water needing to faten up for the upcoming winter. Too bad I've only been catching dinks.

Remember wind is key with crankbait. If you have a good wind it will blow baitfish and muddy the bottom(which allows bass to have a better strike point). If you had that the first time and not the second that explains it. What companies crankbaits and color?

1 minus crankbaits in crawfish on rocks and grass.

rapala crystal shad rap, and an old generic deep diving short but fat greenish/white, no wind the other day, but was using it where a large spring and the river met, fished the mudline there with a ton of sucess, no wind yesterday at the lake either, just fished them along the grassline.

Just maybe you caught too many on them the first day, and they decided not to bite the same bait again?

Might have hit a school. Often you should change colors and that will do it!
