Talking New to bass boating

Just bought a bass tracker 1800LS 1991.tournament Boat. it is in pretty good condition considering the year. Anyone, can you discribe how to hook up 2 12v batts to get 24v, so that both batts. can be charged at the same time? That is from the same onboard charger. Have many questions about bass fishing, but will hit the other forums for that.

i'm pretty sure you wire them in series, so positive on one bat to neg on bat2 and then use the neg on bat1 and pos on bat 2 for your two connections, but correct me if i'm wrong guys

Welcome to the nuthouse

You can get the 24V the way MrPhotog says.

As far as charging...well, first thing I would do is hunt up a user's manual specifically for your charger model, rather than take an anonymous stranger's word for it. If you can't get a paper copy, try to get one off of the web. A 12V lead storage battery can store a tremendous amount of energy. Unleashing that energy incorrectly can be rather destructive to the pocketbook, if not the body.

do you have an 2 bank charger? if not i would just do 1 at a time. and how many batt's do you got, if just 2 than ones for your start bat for out board that needs to be only 12,if 3 than make shure your other stuf is 24v before giving it 24v(i know you have done this but just a reminder)

Are you sure that your boat isn't an FS or TF? I didn't think they made an LS model...could be wrong tho.

Also, photographer is right on the 24V hookup

Whoa, I would check the instructions, but I don't believe you can charge two batteries in a 24/v series with a one bank charger...that's why they sell 1,2,3 bank chargers

This should help you out.... The third battery, which is not shown here would have the 3rd set of pos/neg coming from the onboard charger hooked up as normal, +pos to +pos and -neg to -neg...

mine is also a bass pro shop brand..You plug it up and leave it and when your battery is charged it stops itself and if it is a while before you go fishin, no worries, because it will charge the battery up when it starts to lose power. You will always have confidence that the batteries will be fully charged. I have heard some people say bad things about BPS chargers but I love mine and I have no problem with it.
