Guntersville is awesome. And its a great reason to come back to guntersville but I wouldn't over look places like Douglas Lake or Dale Hollow in Tennessee.

WTL is right, we need to map out a list of all who would be interested, and how far you would be willing to travel to attend.

Due to time and finacial constraints, I could travel to the states that border my home state of Indiana.

It's good that we got this forum started as early as we did, so that we can get all that are interested involved in the process.

So then, speak up if you are interested.

I am interested but it has to be a somewhat reasonable distance to travel. Also, I am waiting for my club to determine its tournament schedule as well. Hope to finally meet you guys.

Its possible me and lowrider would make the trip to do some bass fishing. As long as it wasn't too far or did not interfere with local tourney/work schedule.

whites and spoonbills in feb. Ill have to pass

I;d love to fish Guntersville again, but I think it would be a better idea to keep the member event moving to different locations so more and more members can come. I know I'd probably be willing to travel farther than most, including my dad, but for right now, all the way to MO is looking as a no.

W2BF, I do believe it would be in March if we decide on the white bass thing.

Kentucky lake or Reelfoote lake always seemed to me to be in the type of area that would draw a lot of members from different regions. Good smallmouth and largemouth populations, and if its like the other tennessee river impoundments its not a terribly difficult lake to unlock.

hmm ky lake would be a blast..
very centally located.

my guess would put it 4-6 hour drive from ohio/indy 3-4 hours from st lou, and about
9-9.5 hours drive time from here to ky lake/barkley...

Since Kentucky lake is getting a lot of looks, let me throw up Joe Wheeler state park one more time - just cause I know the area, it would put people within 1 mile of 2 different lakes, it has terrific smallmouth fishing in the tailwaters below wheeler dam and good largemouth in wheeler lake - cabins and 3 different fish camps right there not to mention the wheeler lake lodge - and I know of an A+ smallmouth stream for wading in the area too. Its in northwest Alabama.

If I were able to come I would only consider going to Kentucky Lake or maybe Dale Hollow.
Kentucky Lake is 9 hours and Dale Hollow is 8.5 I'm not really sure how feasible either is, but I bet I'll change my tune in the spring when we still have ice.

KY lake may work for us but we will have to wait and make sure things work out with my tournament schedule, work, and a texas hog hunt that we are discussing but it sounds like a good time.

I might be up for it.
Next spring the wife and I are going to Charlotte for a few days to visit our Daughter and then on to Cincinnati to visit my Mom.
I already told her I was going to drag the boat up there with us, so a stop on the way home to Florida may just work.
We have no particular date picked out yet, but watching here for input.

We could hook up at camping at Big Bear Creek, its a huge area of water, camping and a small town of Benton about couple miles from lake. Its just south of the dam...huge smallmouths and nice largemouths at KY lake.
its 7 hours from dayton ohio, we 've made the trip dozens of times.

KY Lake sounds awesome to. It would be a couple hours drive for us but hey it would be worth it. I would think that mid to late spring would be awesome but I dont know the weather around there to good. Thats when it starts getting nice here.

I'd love to go to KY Lake again. It's 12 hrs for me though. I fished a tournament there once and had an awesome time. It was in mid May. We caught some big smallies and largemouth as well as some spots! We caught over 30 bass a day for 5 straight days! Awesome! Here's a smallie my brother caught on the trip... too bad he caught it practicing.

Sounds like we are building a bit of a consensus.

We need a list of who wants to attend. We can also in time arrange some carpooling and figure who is bringing a boat.

I'd be into it, I'm going back to key west in early march for some fishing, our first grandchild is supposed to be born last week in march, I want to go south before that happens.
Woody, we used to hit I-70 west and drop down rt 65 in ind. to western ky parkway, go over the dam and hit benton, its probably 5 hours from you at the most.
