Heading out in the morning.
I'll be on the water tomorrow before sunrise and this is whats rigged up first. I normally have a couple other rods rigged, but I hate having so many rigs in such a small boat, 12 foot jonboat, especially before sunrise. But these are all killer baits for me, and if they are there, I should catch a few. I also have other baits watting their turn, including soft jerk baits, lipless cranks, soft plastics for pitchin like the Craw Papi, and chatterbaits. But this collection of baits usually works pretty well and covers most of what I'll be running into. If I have any luck at all, I'll let you know. As you can tell, it's all about the reaction bite tomorrow. No finesse. And with the big drop in temps, I expect the fall bite to be on in a big way. The big jig package has worked well for me lately slowly swimming through the tops of weedbeds. And the Rattlin Spook, that just flat out catches fish! It's what I caught my pike on Labor Day.
Now if I only had that new scale I need to pick up! lol Well, if only I would catch something big enough to warrent a scale. haha But hey, it sure beats going to work any day.
