Default Who says you need a limit to win ?

Only the second tournament I've ever made a go at, and my partner and I took third, much to our amazement. I caught two of my biggest keepers using a Tiki stick worm but get this, I've never used soft plastics before. I just knew hard lures werent going to work because Ive fished that area before. My partner ( the more experienced one ) has fished hundreds of tournaments and didnt catch a keeper. He threw mostly hard lures. Anyways 3 keepers and a 3rd place win we both took home a couple of shimano rods and a hundred bucks but, I think the plaque is the coolest part.

Good for you! Congrats! That will get you hooked on tournaments. Good haul on the prizes too.

Smile Tournament Strategy review

I thought I should share the strategy I used in case any of you ever decide to try it. We fished docks, off the main lake with the wind to our backs. The rig was comprised of a Waveworm (Tiki Stick) Black with a blue tip. Hooked through the nose texas rigged, with a 1/4 ounce U-head. I'm not doubting anyones ability to fish with soft plastics, I'm merely suggesting a combo you maybe should include amongst your arsenal.. This style of tikistick is know as "dipstick" and you would probably have to order the black/blue color online as most stores only have select colors. GOOD LUCK FISHING

Wow! All I've gotten for third was my money back, or 80 dollars, and once I didn't even get paid!

What are the buyins and how many people are fishin those tournaments?

Do you know the actual name for the color you fished? I've been fishing some different blue this year with a a fair amount of success. I had ben so stuck on watermelon and red flake stuff for so long I had to break out... I like the sound of the black with the blue tip.
Congrats!
