Default One way to anchor a jig trailer

Ever since Uncle Josh went belly up, I've been struggling with how to keep a plastic trailer on the hook. Having used light coated wire to keep small plastics on my ballhead jigs, it seemed possible to use the bent wire idea on trailers.

You can buy the coated floral arrangement wire anywhere and bend it once around the jig hook:

Put the trailer on and bend the legs of the wire for placement:

The wire allows free movement of the trailer when swimming the jig like a spinnerbait (another use for the anchor):


The wire comes in handy making a spring anchor on wide gap hooks used with swimbaits or other thick lures:
