Default easy to make wire grip on jig heads to hold soft plastic

I've posted this idea on many forums and gotten positive replies how to keep a grub-like lure from sliding down after a few fish. But first let me recommend the jigs I use that allow for more use of a soft plastic lure.

Ebay has quite a few ballhead jig makers that sell very cheap ballheads and with free s/h. The lures I prefer are unpainted and having no collar (bait holder). Collars begin the destruction of soft plastics when too thick.
Painted jigheads distract from the lure or make it appear larger.
I want fish to focus on the lure only.

I take coated floral arrangement wire and snip off a length that when held against the line tie post, reach the curve of the hook:

Fish focus on lure size, action and color - the combination that must be considered when using any lure.
You need needle nose pliers and wire snips:

Line up the wire:

Bend once around and snip off one end close to the post, use the pliers to crush it tighter and and make the wire-L bend:

If the wire is too long, snip some off to match the width of the lure.

Keeps any plastic close to the ball after many fish are caught:

I won't fish jigs without them - even skirted jigs.

That's a pretty cool idea. Depending o n the thickness of the wire, I can see where you could possibly shape it so it not only holds the lure but also acts as a weed guard.

I use a different wire that is flexible for jig weed guards.

No problem hooking bass and even panfish.
