Default Moderators?

I was wondering, since the site is growing fairly quickly, maybe there should be a couple of moderators.

Don't get me wrong, I love that there are no super strict rules here like on most sites, but I think a moderator could come in handy. Like stopping things BEFORE they start, and stuff like that. (I can think of a few instances where a moderator would have prevented some things from happening.

We don't need post nazi's, but I think it would be a good idea to have a moderator or two.

What do you guys think?

BB

I know what you are talking about, and it may be an idea although things are going ok right now. What problems there have been, in my estimation, are relativly minor.

I think not having them makes people take care of their own posts a little more and that is one of the best things about this site. If there were mods added then maybe nobody should know but the mod, then he/she could make things disappear as needed.

I've also been thinking about that too.... and have numerically thought about PM Kevin about it.

I can't wait 'till Kevin sees this!

Everyone is a moderator!

If you see anything that should be reviewed by an administrator... simply click the in the bottom left-hand of the post.

means "REPORT TO ADMIN".

I really appreciate everyone's help and support!

I don't think any mods are needed. Them folks let the power go to thier head. Personally one of the only reason's I visit this site is because it still upholds the Constitution. Free speech and all.
Bama is correct as usual.

Keep it the way it is.

Us quick on the draw?? Moderate ourselves?? We don't moderate, we attack like rabid badgers until the person leaves, apoligizes or just rolls up in the fetal position sucking their thumb and begging for mercy. If not I guess the report a post button will work also.

I love the Constitution, but the 1st Amendment does not apply legally to a message board. This board is the same as if all of us were guests on Kev's front porch having a conversation. If someone gets out of line, Kevin can tell them to shutup and make them like it and its prefectly constitutional.

But other than that small legal qualm, I agree I like the freedom we are given.

I Agree with all the comments so far, no mods are what make bassfishin.com bassfishin.com.

To tell you the truth, I've had major problems with mods in the past.

But their are something that we the people cannot do, for example, lock and move threads. But hey, who's complaining, I'm fine with it!

In my opinion Kevin is doing a fine job with moderating his site.

If it aint broke dont fix it sums it up nicely... Ive seen mods get a little too power hungry and think that they are some sort of demigod
