Bait question ???
I just got me 3 packs of Yum Dinger F2 5 inch is this the most common size used I want to get some that are bigger also 6 or 7, which one? I also got 4/0 gama offset ewg hooks for weightless texas rigging and 4/0 gamma finesse wide gap for wacky rigging if I get some 6 size dingers will these work for them to? And what are some of the best colors to get? I already got Green Pumpkin, Cajun Neon and Black with blue flakes. And should I get some O rings for wacky rigging and if so what size? Thanks guys.

5" is my preferred size for largemouth. I have used the 4" when targeting smallies and 3" on a dropshot. I haven't used the larger baits, they just seem too big for me.
You can use a much smaller hook for wacky rigging. A #1 or 1/0 is plenty of hook in an octapus, mosquito or many makers like Owner or Gamagatsu make a specific wacky rig hook in both weedless and an open hook. If fish swallowing the wacky bait is a problem you can also use a circle hook, but wiil have to adjust from setting the hook to just drawing up the slack and letting that style hook set itself. Use of an "O" ring is a matter of choice - I don't use them. If you want to get more milage from each bait than the "O" ring will help with that. Colors - whaterver colors you would use for worms in your waters will work in the stick baits. Basicly I like the green pumpkin/black flake, watermellon/red flake, pumpkin seed, black/blue flake and a smoke or white, either with a black flake. I have them in probably 25 different colors and brand, but those five colors would be where I start. |
