I'm really shooting off the hip on that pick...speaking of shooting and hips, one things thats got me nervous is our starting DE was shot last week, through the arm and the hip.....I think he will play

Add that to NCAA stuff, swine flu taking about 12 players out of practice, and everyone telling these guys they should mop the floor with VT and I am very unsure of what is gonna happen. Its a "stay away" type game prediction wise.

I smell a little reverse psychology in some of those picks!

Virginia Tech is always well coached and prepared, Frank Beamer was one of the most under rated coaches in America for a long time. However over the last several years real fans have come to appreciate what he can do...

Even though I'm a bit of a VT fan (I love special teams and my cousin played baseball there) I still am going to give 'Bama the nod 24 - 17, just on a hunch, but I will be wearing my Beamer Ball T-shirt today.

On a side note, I'm going up to Syracuse today to watch former Duke point guard Greg Paulus quarterback Syracuse against Minnesota... I'll let you know how it goes.

wow, 12 out with swine flu wtl? man i didn't know that. haven't had sattelite for a while. depending on who on bama's team has it, could determine the game.
i said 21-17 for a reason. i think VT will score 1 offensive td, and a feild goal to win late in the game. the other td came from a pick off from their deffence early in the game (bama's new qb). BUT bama has 2 offensive scores (one from ingram on the ground and 1 from julio in the air. THEN julio scores in the last 30 seconds on a bomb from our qb (think auburn last year).
it is going to be a hard fought game cause there will be 2 of the greatest deffenses on the field. special teams are going to be the KEY to this game. i look for VT to block at least 1 feild goal attempt or a punt (could be 1 of VT's td's). i think saban will show his bad side to bama's players on the camera too. getting in the face of a couple of guys for missed assignments, lol. the media loves showing that kind of stuff. but that is the coaches job ya know. beamer is fantastic coach. respect him so much more than a lot of other coaches.
i just hop it lives up to everyones expectations. hope for a great game and a win for the good guys,lol. bama of course. lmao. hope none of the kids get hurt or anything. and no punches are thrown (we know what i am talking about there too).
lash, it has truly been fun jawing with you too. i know that you are a great friend and you and i can take a lot of ribbing,hahaha. that is part of the game for me. too bad oyu are going fishing instead of watching the game. but i hope you have fun out there pal.

belive it or not brushhawg the orange man's style of play matches alabama almost perfectly-you'd swear it was the same coach..belive me i KNOW..

Bama, I want to be clear - we have had something like 12 men out of practice with the flu. T Cody was one. I think most of them are feeling better, and to my knowledge nobody is out tonight, its just been a real practice distraction. Its all over campus.

lol..........remember the lure you were gonna retire? that one or 2 just like it.

i had the score till VT scored on the dive into the endzone. then the tide "woke" up. too many mistakes in the first half that cost us 2 td's. defenses of BOTH sides played like i thought they would. and VT's special team scored like i predicted, kickoff return.
i was suprised that VT didn't try to block a punt or feild goal attempt. i kept thinking that they would try at least ONCE. why didn't they? they could have blocked one of each i think. bama needs to REALLY look at the o-line. they were NOT very good tonight. and the qb made mistakes too.
all in all..... this was a fantastic game. both teams played up to expectations.

again, the lure is the one that jb is so fond of. i forget the name lash.

Maybe we ought to start a weekly shotgun pool for the "game of the week" of 10 guys. First 10 to come get to play. Pitch a bait for the entry and draw cards for the number of the add up of the final score. Ex: 24-34 = 8 would win. Some one different can draw each week, or a bystander. The winner gets the bait from the entrants. Whuddo you think?

i have to amit none of us really thought it was going to be that high a scoring game..the penalty's hurt bama bad..

regurdless of who you rooted for.. there is no question about who the two top defensive lines in the ncaa are...

the thing that i did not see was first game jitters from either team...

breed-um-young uni beat okie?? guess the boomer sooners are more like the "pop gun" sooners..

ecu took out appl 29-24 WHAT A GAME!! too bad my net feed lost sound and got spotty reception...

if ya thought wv had there hands full with liberty wait till next weekend when they face ecu...
